At the Kakavija border crossing point, movement towards Greece was minimal. Greek customs authorities announced yesterday the 24-hour strike that started this morning and will end at 7 o’clock on the 25th, which almost stopped the circulation of goods.
The notice had provided for exemptions for vehicles transporting food requiring refrigerated conditions or those transporting live animals, but to date no vehicle has passed the customs beam.
Meanwhile only 50 pedestrians were processed after crossing the border on foot. These are seasonal workers who present their employment contracts as reasons to cross the border, as well as cases of people traveling for health reasons.
Today the coronavirus testing with rapid tests continued for all citizens despite the availability of negative covid tests on the part of the citizens.
From tomorrow Kakavija will return to the limited regime of daily circulation with 750 entries per day, a regime that has continuing throughout the summer and autumn.
After the closure of Kapshtica border point, Kakavija remains the only entry point from Albania to Greece.
