Criminal organizations use the green border to traffic drug or illegal
immigrants. Police has received off-road vehicles, donated by the US
Embassy, which will increase the control in the border with Greece.
“Three of these vehicles will be used at the border with Greece. There will be others in the border with Macedonia, Kosovo, and even for the coastline”, said Genc Merepeza, General Border Director.
The problem for the police is still the border with Greece. The US Embassy has also donated thermal cameras and other specialized equipment.
“We are cooperating with the Greek side, to prevent traffic of cannabis”, Merepeza declared.
