The Ministry of Finances reacted one day after the Socialist leader’s
declarations about the national lottery tender. The Ministry answered by
accusing the Socialist leader of trying to throw mud against a process
that has been among the most transparent ones.
The Ministry considers Rama’s declarations as irresponsible when he says that the government is transferring millions of euros to their private clients, and trying to lie to the public with the 10% tax.
According to the Ministry, the private company that will win the tender will pay a 10% tax on profit, the local taxes, the VAT for every purchase, the tax on the divident, 10% of the turnover and will return 50% of the turnover to the public, through prizes.
“We invite the opposition leader to make the calculations once again and see if 90% of the revenues will go to the public or the company”, the Minister of Finances declared.
Right after this declaration, Rama reacted on Twitter:
“Bode reminds us that the state will profit the VAT by his theft. The right of the public on the National Lottery is not equal to the taxes that will pay your clients after its criminal privatization”, Rama wrote, considering the Minister of Finances as ridiculous.
The opposition leader continues by saying that the National Lottery is a game in which the public will participate not for making the government’s clients rich, but for taking the benefits that the government invests in arts, sports, cultural heritage, youth and social matters.
