After securing a 3-year job contract in Albania, Bob moved in Durres together with his wife and two children. He has already started to speak Albanian.
“I am from Wisconsin, near Chicago. I am here to teach math. I have been in Durres for the last three months and I like living here”, he says in Albanian.
While many Albanians would like to move to the USA, Bob says that he wanted to live in Europe. He chose Albania as a good way to recognize it.
“Albania has good opportunities and Durres is a beautiful city. It is hard to talk about the job market here, but if someone would have a job opportunity here, they should move”, the US citizen says.
The number of foreign citizens living in Albania has increased. In Durres they work in the fishing sector, cooking, trade and other services.
