The Socialist Party MP, Ben Blushi, refused the proposition of Edi Rama for a party referendum about the new leader.
“I think that it is clear that we are having a party with two sets of rights. One has more than everyone else together. This is an absurd that doesn’t respect the statute in effect, but wants to respect a statute that is not in effect yet”, Blushi declared one day ago at the meeting of the National Assembly of the Socialist Party.
However, Blushi will continue his battle with seven other members of the National Assembly through the movement “Movement for Democracy in the SP”, with a platform presented by Maqo Lakrori.
“We undertook this initiative with the purpose to vitalize the internal democracy of the Socialist Party, because there are problems that need to be resolved. My experience in the SP has taught me that this party can function very well when there is democracy”, Lakrori said.
But what will be the future of this movement, for which some suspect it will turn into a political party?
“We will organize direct meetings in cities and villages, even with people abroad. We will take the opinion of Socialists even in a wider area than this. This opinion will decide the future of this process”, Lakrori said.
The Movement for Democracy in the SP is the second effort of Ben Blushi, after the format “Movement for a Different Opinion”, which he abandoned. It remains to be seen if Blushi will continue with this one.
