Blushi: Professional education is failing. High-schools must be compulsory

The Albanian Parliament is discussing this Thursday the pre-university
education system. The Socialist MP, Ben Blushi, criticized the Minister
of Education and Sport.
Blushi mentioned the decision that brings professional schools under the dependence of the Ministry of Youth and Social Welfare, by criticizing it as untrue.
“It is like if the Ministry of Defense passes the army under the Ministry of Culture”, he said.
The MP of the majority criticized the Ministry of Education for reducing the Alter-Text books in just three.
“I am not convinced that the Alter-Text was successful, but the alternative texts were unlimited. Today they are limited in three, which means that we are back at Alter-Text. Why three? Why not four or five? And who chooses these three?” Blushi declared.
Blushi declared that Albania has the worst education system in the region and gives less funds to it.
