The Socialist MP, Ben Blushi, will present at the at the Congress of the
Socialist Party eight propositions for their new statute. The primary
elections within the party, and limitation of mandates, are two of the
new propositions.

Blushi proposes that the internal elections within the party should be held before the parliamentary election, before local elections, in order to decide about their candidate for President, Prime Minister or Mayor.

“The Socialist Party leader has had the monopoly of choosing mayors or MPs, which is an old practice and non-productive. It is time to change it”, Blushi said.

Another sensitive matter is the proposition for limiting mandates of the party leader and mayors. Blushi proposes that this mandate should be no more than two, so that there could be more competition.

The Socialist MP presented these propositions even for the incompatibility of mandates, which has never been implemented, according to Blushi. The other propositions are related to the social government, finances, syndicates under party leadership and the membership list.
