The Albanian politician, Bllen Bushi, returns with another book, “Hëna e
Shqipërisë”, which publisher Henri Cili considered as built on an
architecture that predicts the future.
What will Albania be like after 100 years? Will we be united with Europe, with Kosovo? Blushi answers to this and other questions through what he calls and effort for predicting the future from the conditions of today.
Blushi declared that the 19 essay-ideas and debates included in the Moon of Albania are not prophecies, and he hopes he was not wrong with his predictions.
“I am sure that the unification with the European Union will take place. The question is at what cost. The European Union accession will not be an easy process. We are not as close as we should have been, but we are closer than ever in history, and this is what I am trying to say in this book, focusing a bit on the future. It would be better to be in the European Union together with Kosovo, as a bigger state, with a bigger market and a consolidated national culture, which we much deserve. This is a complicated process, maybe in a near future, maybe bot. If these two states don’t evolve in parallel with democracy, rule of law and culture, their unification will not be easy in the future”, Blushi declared.
As for the religion, Blushi seas the future of Islam as a political organization.
“While all parties lose terrain, Islam wins causes and followers each day more, taking advantage of the weaker competitors. It is almost a political movement, silent but very active”, Blushi says.
10 essays in this book are dedicated to inequality.
“I believe that inequality will get deeper in Albania. Unfortunately, the twinning of the rich class with the political elite is becoming more evident and stronger. Fighting inequality means directly or indirectly making laws for the rich to share their wealth with the poor. We don’t have these realities in Albania. We might need more years to get closer to it, and this is one of the biggest differences that we have with Europe today”, Blushi declared.
Same as his other books, this is expected to spur many controversies.
