Biggest EULEX scandal

The new Chief of the mission, Gabriele Meuci, admitted that there are investigations about corruption undergoing within EULEX.

The scandal reported by “Koha Ditore” during this week was followed by the suspension of the EULEX Prosecutor, Maria Bamieh, who openly supported the facts mentioned by the media, even though she denied her participation in the writing of those articles.

She accused her superiors of interfering with some important cases of crime and corruption in Kosovo, rather than listening to her suspicions and accusations of obstructing justice in cases like that of the former Health Minister, Ilir Tolaj, and the triple murder at the Kacaniku bridge.

Bramieh supports the accusations for wire taps, the evidence for information leak, and the scandal becomes even more deeper when the same newspaper writes that the secret information of EULEX have ended in the hands of secret Serbian agents.

The British Prosecutor who worked for seven years in Kosovo accused the Italian judge, Francesco Florit, of accepting 300.000 EUR from the brother of one convict.

After being suspended for illegal parking, the Prosecutor has hired lawyer Arianit Koci for her defense. Koci said for Top Channel that EULEX must suspend all officials. He said that his move will be a request to undo the suspension of his client.

Since there is no criminal investigation against Mariah Bamieh so far, but only administrative investigations, lawyer Koci said that he is not authorized to speak about details that have not been published recently about the EULEX scandals.

The recent events in the biggest law enforcing mission in Kosovo, for which the EU has invested hundreds of millions of Euros, was commented by the government of Kosovo. Prime Minister Thaci said that the Kosovo institutions are still cooperating with EULEX, and added that the transition of competences from EULEX to Kosovo institutions should continue.
