Recent data from Bank of Albania suggest that the banking system in our country depends on a small number of subjects.

The observatory report for the last year says that the ten biggest creditors are still owing 10.2% of the total loans given by the entire banking system.

It is 56.5 billion ALL in total that they owe to the banking system, or 565 million USD.

While the 100 biggest creditors make 32.1% of the total loans, mounting up to 1.84 billion USD.

The heavy weight of these loans in the financial market makes them critical for the financial system, since their financial difficulties would have a large impact in the banking balances.

According to Bank of Albania, these subjects have a portfolio which is better than the national average.

The data show that for the 10 biggest creditors, the bad loans make 11.7%, twice lower than the average in our market, even though when compared with one year ago this figure has deteriorated with 3.5%.
