The Albanian Parliament Speaker and leader of the Socialist Movement for
Integration, Ilir Meta, was welcomed by Parliament Members of the
Social Democratic Party of Germany, Nortbert Spinrath, Christian Petry
and Joachim Barchmann, at the Commission for European Matters of the
German Parliament.
SMI says in a press release that the German lawmakers shared their trust that Balkan is part of Europe, and offered their support for Albania to join the EU.
“As member of the Commission, we are clear that Balkan is part of Europe and we will do everything to accompany you to EU full membership”, Spinrath said during the meeting.
Meta thanked the Parliament members for their supportive message and noted that Albania has realized several important reforms in the past years, focusing on the justice reform, which passed with consensus in the Albanian Parliament.
