After clashing at the Foreign and Security Commissions, the opposition
and the majority also clashed at the Parliamentary Commission for the
Investigation of CEZ.

As warned, former PM Sali Berisha was expected to testify in this meeting. A few moments before the former PM entered the room, Democratic Party MP, Arben Ristani, requested the Socialist Chairman, Taulant Balla, to be removed as chairman of this Commission, since there was a conflict of interest, as Balla was charged with slander against Berisha by the Court.

Balla reacted by saying that the Court verdict has not issued a final decision, and that Ristani should address the Parliament with this request before the meeting.

Ristani insisted that Balla can lead the commission for others, but not against Berisha. “I am not a judge”, Balla said, adding “I would love to be a judge and have Berisha as defendant, but I am not”, Balla said.

Berisha called Taulant Balla a liar that has been sentenced by the court for slander.
