The former Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, suggested President
Bujar Nishani to take all necessary measures against what he considered a
“constitutional coup”. Berisha asked the dissolution of the Parliament
and gathered the Democratic Parliamentary Group for consults.

“The President of the Republic has no constitutional prerogatives. In other Constitutions, the President is the bailiff of a Constitutional Court decision. This doesn’t exist in our constitution. The President should be consulted wit the best lawmakers of the country to express his stance against this anti-constitutional act. In these conditions, the Parliament deserves only one thing, its immediate dissolution”, Berisha said.

Berisha says that when the Parliament has consumed the worst constitutional violation, a coup d’etat, it doesn’t deserve to exist. “I invite the opposition to take all measures, because this situation destroys the rule of law. Imagine what these people in power can do if they ignore the verdicts of the court that has equal value with the constitutional norms”, Berisha declared.

He added that the opposition will continue to stand to its decision for civilian protests. “The Parliament will be dissolved by the Albanian citizens and the sovereign”, he said.

Balla: “The slander will be resolved by the justice reform”

MP Taulant Balla answered to the accusations of Berisha and said that the claims of the DP are invalid and that the justice reform will end the slandering history.

“The man who just spoke has plenty of problems with justice and is trying to block the reform. The justice reform is the best way to end thi”.

Balla says the DP is using double standards. “We agreed with the party led by Lulzim Basha, but there are disagreements with the party led by Sali Berisha. The Democratic Party has never been worse”, Balla said.
