One day before leaving power, the former right-wing government paid to
the lobbying company “Podesta” 180,000 USD for lobbying services. The
news has been revealed by the “Influence Explorer” website, part of the
Sunlight Foundation, which is the main source of data for the money and
influence in the United States politics.

The published documents show that the 180,000 USD were paid by the former government on September 9th. One day later, President Nishani decreed the left-winged government that won the June 23rd elections.

The 180,000 payment is one of the installments that the Albanian government has paid for lobbying. According to “Influence Explorer”, the total money that has been paid for 2013, from April to September, was 560,000 USD. All paid to “Podesta”, the lobbying company of Tony Podesta.

This is part of a payment history that has started in 2007, when the first lobbying agreement was signed with “Euro Ridge”, owned by the former Secretary for Internal Security, Tom Ridge.

Since then, the lobbying agreements for curing the image of the Albanian government in the United States government have continued year after year. In 2009, Patton Boggs appears on the scene and Podesta two years later. Two companies that according to Sunlight Foundation have been paid by the Albanian government for 2.4 million USD in two years.
