During a Parliamentary Group meeting of the Democratic Party, Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared that the competition for the new Parliament House builder was the most transparent ever held.
He emphasized that this project is the first step to transform Tirana into a European city.
“This week had another culminating event, the selection of new Parliament House project. This was the most transparent competition in our history, with the participation of world’s best known studios. We decided not to exclude any of the studios, making it the most transparent action. The jury selected the Austrian project, one of greatest architectural studios of our time”, Berisha explained.
This project lays this century’s foundations for Tirana, which is going to be the most modern city in the region. Tirana looks like a suppressed city, very distant to other European capitals. Tirana must achieve its dream of becoming a European city”, Berisha added.
“Next Tirana Mayor’s projects will find our citizen’s support in their interest to develop our capital, so that it becomes a cultural counterpart of other European cities”, Berisha declared.
