After the names of the new government have been declared, the Prime
Minister of the outgoing government, Sali Berisha, made his first
comments about it.
Berisha declared that some of the future ministers are incapable, and many of them have family and business relations to the Prime Minister designate, Edi Rama. For Berisha, this and the inclusion of women in the cabinet were the two big novelties.
“Nothing new from the western front, says Erich Maria Remark. Nothing new from the front of April 1st. Besides the presence of more ladies, which is a positive step, for the others you can just see it and comment it. He has been shouting for the last month that there will be an audit of the public finances by an international company. Probably some company that will divide the money with him. But we know that the International Monetary Fund is the main international audit for every government in every free country, and their data are recognized world wide. Every cent that enters the budget of this country goes through a banking system, and can be read online by every Albanian citizen. The Bank of Albania can tell you about the debt in full responsibility, and the Ministry of Finances, which have not used a single cent for the debt against the rules”, Berisha declared.
According to the Prime Minister, the building of a government with 21 cabinet members is not the right way to reduce the public spending, and not a practice that is followed by developed European Union countries.
“Building a government that is bigger than in Italy, Spain, Germany and every other European Union country, is a large burden on the Albanian tax payers back. Although some bootlickers would want to say that the Socialist ministers eat less and they will cost less, it is the contrary. The Albanian tax payers will have the biggest government ever. Only Belarus has a bigger government than the one that has been declared today by the next Prime Minister. I hope that he will not continue everything like this”, Berisha declared.
