The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, welcomed today the Chief of
the OSCE-ODIHR Election Observing Mission, Mrs. Conny McCormack, before
leaving her mission from Albania.
After being praised by the Prime Minister for the professional work led by observers, the Head of ODIHR greeted the good will and readiness of everyone involved in the electoral process.
Prime Minister Berisha underlined that the election observation is a basic element for guaranteeing transparency and credibility in elections, and valued this high and civilized standards of this process.
Berisha reiterated that the small number of appeals is due to a transparent and very regular process, and it shows the high quality of these elections.
On her side, Mrs.McCormak praised the organization of the process on the Election Day, underlining that the shorter queues were due to the reduced number of voters per polling station, and this was a visible improvement.
She declared that the counting process was also improved, and underlined that it is very important that this process showed the maturity of Albania’s democracy.
