The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, asked a third mandate in the
town of Kavaja, which he considers as the epicenter of democracy and of
the June 23rd victory.
After listing the achievements of the last eight years, after introducing promises for the next four years and accusing the opposition for blocking the candidate status, Berisha declared that the citizens should vote the only alternative that brought development and integration.
“For as long that you (to Rama) don’t apologize with the Albanians for blocking the European Union candidate status, you will never have their support. This is the square of history, where in 1990 these citizens were obliged to stop your father’s close friend”, Berisha addressed to the opposition leader, Edi Rama.
“Together we made Albania a NATO member, we deserved the candidate status and this is said by the European Commission. But it was blocked by only one anti-Albanian”, Berisha declared.
“We have built more than 10.000 kilometers of roads, new schools. We have funded agriculture and Albania has grown in all aspects, working for a better life. However, we don’t ask a new mandate for what we have done, but for what we will do”, the Prime Minister declared.
“With an economy that didn’t enter in a crisis, regardless of what happened in Europe, we will make Albania a developed country in the next mandate. We will increase employment and welfare. The next mandate will be the mandate of the status, of paving every kilometer of road in Kavaja and everywhere else. It will be the mandate of building a direct road that will connect Kavaja with Tirana”, Berisha declared.
Tirana’s Mayor, Lulzim Basha, asked his predecessor (Rama) why he didn’t lower local taxes when he could, and stated: “Thanks to the roads built by Prime Minister Berisha, Rama will have more time to insult him in his meetings”.
