The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, returned once again to the promise for increasing wages and pensions.
According to Berisha, this decision should have been taken in June, but it was postponed so that it would not be interpreted as an electoral action. Berisha says that pensions will increase with 4%, and 590.000 citizens will profit from it.
The public administration employees will also benefit, and their wage will increase with 5.4%.
“”The average wage will increase with 5.4%. Wage for teachers will increase from 53.300 to 54.828. Nurses will also have their wages increased, together with the police officers and the armed forces. The wages of Mps, Minsiters and highest officials will remain the same”, Berisha declared.
The government leader mentioned the Socialist Party accusations regarding the decisions taken from this government in the end of its mandate.
“The Constitution is very clear about when the mandates of a Parliament and government end, and when the mandate of a majority start. The European Constitutions do not recognize any limitation to the government in its last or first days”, Berisha declared.
