The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, traveled to one of Albania’s
farthest points, for inaugurating the construction of a small hydropower
plant, where 8.5 million USD were invested after it was given with
concession for producing 35 million KW in average.

This is not a big hydropower plant, but for the Prime Minister, it is very important for supplying power to the most important tourist areas of the country.

For the Prime Minister, the hydropower has other significance because it shows how his goal for turning Albania into a developed country is being realized.

“Any comment against the hydropower plants has only bad intentions and a cynical envy, which derive from close party interests or business interests. I guarantee you that the concession’s race has been and will be one of the most important pages in the history of the Albanian market, which will turn Albania into a small super power in the region. This is a safe road of success for turning Albania into a developed country”, Berisha underlined.

According to Berisha, 46 small power plants have been built so far, and 100 others are under construction, with a 2.5 billion ALL investment.
