With the end of the Levan-Vlore highway constructions, Prime Minister
Berisha held the inauguration ceremony and accused the government of
lying with their claims that the Vlore district was forgotten by the
government.

“We are inaugurating today one of the most important and most beautiful roads in Albania, which regardless its low cost, has high standards that can be compared with most developed countries”, PM Berisha declared.

“The 24.5 km highway had a cost of 60 million EUR that is cheap, considering the parameters. A vehicle can drive with 120 kmh, which will reduce the travel time from the capital to Vlore”.

As for the investments held in this district, the Prime Minister added that during his government in Fier and Vlore there have been a series of unprecedented investments in the history of Albania. With 900 kilometers of road, irrigation canals, agricultural subventions, subventions in energy, schools, hospitals and everything else, the Democratic Party government has spent 1.2 billion EUR, 500 million of which coming from the state budget.

By avoiding the immunity comments, which is a hot political debate for the moment, Berisha accused the Socialists of having “communist mentality” that doesn’t allow them to value progress in Albania. He accused the Vlore Mayor, Shpetim Gjika, of destroying the government investments.

“In vlore, with the state budget money, we built the ‘Transbalkanic’ road, one of the most beautiful boulevards in the country. Now it is has been left in a miserable state by the Socialist municipality only because it was built by the government. However, we will keep investing in Vlore, because the bypass project in Tragjas is incomplete and soon we will build one of the longest seaside promenades in the region”, Berisha declared.
