Prime Minister Berisha launched the electoral campaign in Fier, expressing his conviction on the victory of DP candidate, Ilir Bele.
During his speech, Berisha emphasized the attention that the government has given to Fier district, where, according to Berisha, the government has invested 400 million Euros in four years.
“Fier will have the biggest support. During these years, we have invested more than 400 million of Euros in your district. We have built 260 kilometers of roads, while on county level we have built 500 kilometers of roads. We have built 27 aqueducts in the district and 57 in the county. We have also built more than 50 schools”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister said that the Democratic government investments in four years have been greater than the investments of the Socialists in 8 years.
“We have invested for planting 1200 hectares of olive groves and greenhouses. In the next four years we will do everything for the farmers to get subsidized”, he promised.
Berisha listed the achievements of the government, emphasizing the NATO membership, visa liberalization and economic growth.
“Together, after being a country that no one knew, we became NATO members and now we can move without visas in Europe. Together, from a country with 4 / 5 of the infrastructure in medieval conditions, now we have the most modern infrastructures not only in cities, but even in hundreds of communes. We transformed the failed Albanian economy to one of Europe’s most promising economies, leading the economic growth in Europe. I invite you on May 8th to vote this alternative that aims to solve your problems”, Berisha added, and as usual, he continued the irony with the opposition leader, Edi Rama.
The candidate for Mayor of Fier, Ilir Bele, promised the initiation of the city’s transformation.
“Fier is on very bad conditions. We deserve more than this. We should revive Fier”, he said.
