The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, visited Divjaka and
Rrogozhina today where he asked the vote for the Democratic Party as an
alternative for European Albania.
Berisha promised that the government will keep supporting farmers and encourage their production, saying that investments will continue only in infrastructure and that the major objective in the next mandate is creating 250.000 new jobs.
“In a few years we have reached historic changes. Today we are a NATO member country and we can travel visa free throughout Europe. Today the Divjaka citizens export 85% of their products. In these few years we have built and rebuilt more than 10.000 kilometers of road, 1300 schools and 400 health centers, and our major objective in the next four years is creating 250.000 new jobs”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister attacked the opposition leader in Rrogozhina and his promises for taxes. He said that removing VAT for agricultural products would ruin the domestic production. Berisha called this as the tax that protects the domestic goods from foreign imports.
“The progressive tax is the final ruin of your sweat and work. VAT is the tax that protects your goods, and if it is removed, large international producers will bring their products in Albania with a 20% lower price. The European Union countries will bring containers of milk, cheese and eggs, all without VAT. Canada would bring wheat, and your production would remain unsold”, Berisha declared.
