Berisha: I haven’t been summoned by the Prosecution. I do not trust the investigation

The former Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, was mentioned by his
former ally, Ilir Meta, in the scenario mentioned for the murder of the
two MPs. But on the same day when the Prime Minister, the Minister of
Interior and the Parliament Speaker appeared at the Prosecution, Berisha
denies his involvement in the case opened by the Prosecution.

“I haven’t received any official invitation from the Prosecution. I will certainly go if I will be summoned, because it is required by the law that I have approved in Parliament”, Berisha declared.

The former Prime Minister exchanged harsh accusations with the Parliament Speaker yesterday. The same tension continued even after Meta’s  testimony at the Prosecution.

“He forgot to mention Shkelzen (Berisha’s son) this time, and continued with his crazy idea for saying that Tom Doshi is with the Democratic Party. He proved that he is the cause of this unprecedented event in any free country”, Berisha underlined.

Prime Minister Rama seems less exposed in this story, and Berisha is using a tone that seems to preserve this position of his political adversary.

“If the investigation is left to Saimir, outside any legal practice and against the Constitution, the Prosecution is hopeless. Maybe Rama told the Prosecutors that the investigations were done by Tahiri and there is nothing left for them to do”, Berisha declared.

The focus of the opposition is on the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta:” We must support the Prosecution and the investigation. For as long that Meta goest to the Prosecution as a Parliament Member, there are no chances or this investigation to be trusted. The opposition demands his resignation because he is the main suspect”, Berisha declared.

Next Thursday the Democratic Party has invited citizens to protest for forcing the Parliament Speaker to resign.
