Family crime has shocked the residents of Arrez village, in Poshnje
Commune, Berat District. A 65-year-old shot and killed his son and
wounded two others.
The 36-year-old Vullnet Cjapi died this Saturday evening, around 21:00, after being shot by his father, Yzeir Cjapi.
The bullets did not spare the brother-in-law and sister-in-law of the aggressor, both of them now being treated at Berat hospital, out of life danger.
According to police sources, this grave incident was caused by a father and son dispute. The 65-year-old had forbidden his son to go at the wedding of his uncle’s daughter, since the father had a dispute with his brother-in-law.
Yzeir Cjapi waited his son to return from the wedding, to confront him for disobeying his order.
The aggressor’s brother-in-law and wife came in the help of Yzeir’s son, but were unable to prevent the serious crime.
The 65-year-old took out his hunting gun and shot his son, leaving him dead, while he has also wounded the uncle of the victim and the uncle’s wife.
Afterwards, the author of the crime closed himself in one of the rooms, until police tried to convince him to surrender.
The author surrendered after one hour of negotiations with the Police, and now is under their custody.
