Berat local socialist leaders denounced a violent act on political basis.
According to them, Shefit Shanaj, Gjeroven village resident and Socialist Party supporter has been violently attacked by two persons who are relatives of the SMI candidate. The wounded man was sent at the Berat hospital to be medicated.
“This is what they did to me. I was turning back from work and stopped at a bar to have a coffee. They came 10 minutes later and hit me”, says Shefit Shanaj.
Local Socialist leader told the details of what happened. “Police knew who the attackers were. They called them in and then released them. So, this is political”, says Selman Hodaj.
Berat Socialists have filed a complaint at the police for the two identified persons who used violence.
