Belle Air’s bankruptcy, chaos in Rinas

25/11/2013 00:00

Hundreds of citizens who had to travel this Sunday and Monday with the
Belle Air flights have stayed for hours at the Mother Theresa airport,
where they asked explanations from the company for canceling their
flights.

“I want to go home, in Milan. I have to go at work. This way I’m losing my job and my future. I’m staying for hours in an airport and I don’t know when I will depart”, a passenger declared.

“There are people who don’t have money to travel, because other companies charge 200-300 EUR”, another man says.

“We are the Vlore Parody Group, and we have a show in Torino. The Albanian people are waiting for us there, but we can’t go”, says a passenger of Belle Air.

Citizens say that they have purchased tickets until Sunday at 20:30, when the company announced that they had interrupted their activity.

“We kept buying tickets until 20:30, but they have canceled flights starting from Sunday at 16:00. How is it possible that they were selling tickets when they had declared bankruptcy”, another passenger says.

Belle Air has canceled more than 10 flights to Greece and Italy. The same situation was found in front of the company’s offices, with citizens asking explanations about the canceling of their flight.

Passengers have been able to go to Italy only tonight, through the Blu Panorama company, by adding 60 Euros per segment. 168 passengers have been able to travel from Tirana to Bologna.

Airport official sources say that another airplane departed at 19:00 with 168 passengers to Milano. The lines of Bergamo and Venice will be made possible tonight.

The rest of the citizens who had to travel this Monday will be able to take their flight on Tuesday. Airport authorities confirm that the Blue Panorama will cover Belle Air’s flights during the entire week.
