Belgium refuses Syria’s chemical weapons

Belgium refused to accept Assad’s chemical weapons, and declared that
they would like the arsenal to be destroyed close to Syria, according to
Associated Press.

The Belgian Interior Minister, Pieter de Crem, declared that the transportation of these weapons is already a difficult task.

After Albania rejected this Friday after popular protest, Belgium has been considered as the next country to take this task, maybe due to the long history of destroying the World War I arsenal.

The OPCW approved a plan for destroying the 1300 tons from Damask, including the mustard and sarin gas, but declared that they need to find a country who will accept the dangerous operation.
