Before the members of the OSCE Special Council, Prime Minister Edi Rama in the role of the head of the OSCE said that he continues to be ready to facilitate communication between the parties in Belarus for the resolution of the conflict.
According to Rama, the OSCE must be a facilitator of the nightmare Belarus is going through.
“The OSCE must do its utmost to assist Belarus at this crossroads. Violence is ready to erupt, for the country to move forward is required an understanding and cooperation in Belarus. Our role should be to help making that happen.
“Nevertheless no matter how strong the opinions are, it is not up to us to interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus.
“But we can not and should not stand aside. Belarus is a friend to us and is not the first country to reach this point. We aim to reduce tension and offering counseling as a third party. No matter how bad things are there must be reconciliation. We need to look ahead. But this must be resolved in Minsk, with the Belarusian people. A common path must be found for this. As chair of the OSCE, I remain ready to create this opportunity”, stated Rama among other things.
