The Bektashi believers celebrate today the birthday of Imam Ali, which
is known as the Novruz Day. This is a day of the Bektashi nobility, the
day of the big resurrection, which starts with best wishes for peace,
welfare and good luck.
The traditional religious ceremony was held in the Holy See of the World Bektashi Headquarters in Tirana, where Baba Edmond Brahimaj wished more peace and love for all believers.
“On this beautiful Spring day, March 22nd, on the celebration of Sultan Nevruz and the birthday of the great Ali, I wish you blessings for all of your good acts. Might God lead your way. WE appeal all humanity to find love, joy, freedom, hope and most of all, peace with ourselves”, he declared.
The ceremony started with the Albanian National Anthem, and Baba Edmond Brahimaj appealed for more moral and patriotic dedication.
Government officials visited the holy see, from the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, to the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Erion Veliaj, and the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha.
