After Turkey was closed as a tourist option for Russians, other
countries in the region are competing, and Albania is one of them.
Four tourist companies were part of the national Tourism Fair that is being held in Moscow from March 23rd to 26th.
“It is a very interesting market. Greece and other countries of the region are trying hard to get as more tourists as possible”, says Ardit Collaku, Director of the National Tourism Agency.
But is Albania ready to accommodate them? Collaku says that we don’t complete all the conditions for such a large number.
“This might become part of the national strategic plan as regards the reform. We know that we have an informal market”, Collaku said.
For the Albanian union of tourist operators, the problems start with the airports and the fees that ours offer to charters.
Kasmi says that if Russian visitors would come to Albania, they could even make the season longer, since different from Albanians, Russians don’t consider October cold.
