Bashkim Rama is appointed Chargé d’affaires in Macedonia. Due to the
absence of an ambassador for a long time in this neighboring country,
the Foreign Ministry resolved the issue by sending a Chargé d’affaires
as the highest representative.
Bashkim Rama, a career diplomat, has already served in Macedonia for the Albanian government.
Rama has recently been leading the Regional Directory at the Foreign Ministry of Albania.
He was appointed during a difficult crisis in Macedonia, after the dramatic events of Kumanova. The political conflict between the Presidency and the Foreign Ministry left Albania without representation in Macedonia for a long time.
Same as with the other matters, the President did not appoint Fatos Reka as Ambasador in Skopje, saying that the government had not consulted him.
