The crisis created by the deep loss on the June 25th elections is still present within the Democratic Party leadership.
The race for the new leader is being judged by the role of Basha and Berisha in it. Eduard Selami’s announcement that he would run for leader was not enough, apparently, and Astrit Patozi is also stepping into the game.
Patozi, former Parliamentary Group leader and second person in charge, resigned from these dugies four years ago to protest the race between Basha and Olldashi. After Basha left him outside the candidate list this year, Patozi warned that there would be a loss.
But what does he represent in a race against Basha? Is this a revival of Olldashi’s movement? What will happen on July 22nd? Is the DP facing the biggest division in its entire history?
