Tirana’s democrat candidate started the electoral week by meeting residents of Municipal Division no. 5, one of Tirana’s most dense areas, due to many apartment buildings constructed over the years.

This socialist political stronghold, according to Mr. Basha, has the most obvious and bad conditions, because unorganized constructions have caused lacking in infrastructure.

After meeting with people and distributing the video footage to the Media, Tirana’s DP candidate Lulëzim Basha and SMI’s candidate Erisa Xhixho confirmed the absence of green spaces and playgrounds around residential areas and market’s bad hygiene. Then they met and heard people’s complaints on high taxes.

“They have made constructions upon water drainage system and apartment building entries get flooded”, one resident complained to Basha. “We do not have playgrounds. We want a place where we can play”, a little girl added.

On his program announcement, Mr. Basha promised to cut taxes, eliminating 60 from the current 82 local taxes, and he also promised to lower the remaining ones.

Right after Basha, socialist deputy Eduard Shalsi visited the same area and called Basha’s promises a farce.

“I calmed the residents telling them not to mind Berisha’s Basha, because he doesn’t know what he is saying. Berisha tells Lulëzim to say that he will open 30.000 jobs, and Basha says so. Lulëzim Basha promises to repair water drainages, when Tirana’s aqueduct institution is under Berisha’s control”, Basha declared.
