The Democratic Party has presented in Berlin their concern regarding the
situation in Albania. The opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, considered
it as very serious, due to the criminalization of politics, the
Parliament and the high levels of the administration.

Basha shared this concern with two of the closest collaborators of the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, respectively her Chief of Cabinet and adviser for foreign policy and security.

The opposition leader discussed with them regarding the recent accusations against the Parliament Speaker, with MP Tom Doshi saying that he had plotted his assassination.

The Democratic Party press release says that Mr.Basha updated the high-rank officials of the German government with the efforts that “the Albanian government is making to hamper the investigation and to cover the truth of this case”.

“The request of the opposition and of the citizens is the resignation of the Parliament Speaker, so that there can be a full and thorough investigation, without being influenced by the government”, Basha has said.

The Democratic Party leader expressed the opposition’s commitment to go to the end of the decriminalization process and liberate the country from the “reign of crime in the government”.
