Basha: We want the government’s resignation

12/05/2014 00:00

The Democratic Party has never thought that they would demand so soon
the resignation of a Prime Minister that was elected with more than 1
million votes, but the airplane in Divjaka, which was trying to
transport drugs, made this request unavoidable, which was articulated by
the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, after a meeting of the DP
leadership that was held behind closed doors.

“The Democratic Party and the opposition demand an immediate resignation of the Rama government, not more and not less. The resignation of this government is imperative for reflecting about the responsibilities that the majority has failed to complete; to stop the drug traffic and crime that we are seeing; and to unblock the democratic life and the integration process of our country in Europe. The Albanian people doesn’t accept to be governed by a government that is puppet of the organized crime, a government that is one with the narco-traffic”, Basha declared.

The resignation request was followed by strong accusations against the government and the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, .

“For every Albanian with open eyes, today it is more clear than yesterday. They stayed silent because they knew what was going on. They refused, they laughed at the facts and threatened because they knew it, because they are involved, because they are profiting, because they are taking money from drugs, and because throught the power of drug money and violence they want to establish the power of dirty money and violence, which, as such, cannot be for the people and to the people. The Democratic Party, the opposition and the entire healthy public opinion, accuses today Prime Minister Rama and his cupola for a direct implication in hiding this drug scandal, and for the political support they have given to this mafia activity of huge proportions, which endangers the rule of law basis and stains the image of our country in the international arena”, Basha declared.

This extremely strong reaction of the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha is not unexpected. This had been warned this Sunday, when the former Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha, and the former Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, appealed on their Facebook pages for protests and for making Prime Minister Edi Rama resign.

After the Parliamentary Group meeting, MR.Basha officialized the protest this Thursday, which will be held during the plenary session.

“The Democratic Party and the opposition will lead this unstoppable popular protest until Edi Rama will lave the government. For this reason, this Thursday at 10:00, we invite the Albanian citizens, men and women, old and young, left and right centered, with our without political affiliations, to join in a popular protest against the drug oligarchy, and for telling with our powerful voice to Rama to leave the government. Let’s rise in protest, more determined than ever, to fight against the criminal, anti-popular and anti-European course of the drug oligarchy. Let’s rise, more united than ever, to send home the drug traffic government. The government of fraud against the Albanian people and their future”, the Democratic Party leader declared.
