Lulzim Basha distanced himself from the protesters who threw stones
towards the Prime Minister’s office. He didn’t deny they were from the
Democratic Party, but said they had merit for stopping an escalation of
the actions.

“Thanks to the Democratic Party, a popular anger that could have taken 10 Prime Ministries, was held and the usage of stones were never part of our scenario. Our structures intervened that this biggest anger of the people ever gathered on the boulevard would not touch a single police officer. I am proud of this, because it is a standard of the DP. The institution is the police”, Basha said.

As for what happened with the bunker, Basha is not sorry. He accused the government of being them the ones to be illegal, together with the Prime Minister.

As for the fine given by the municipality of Tirana, Basha used irony and said that instead of paying it they would send a cucumber to the Mayor.

When asked if there will be other protests, Basha said they will not stop, and that the civilian disobedience has only just started.

There is no date yet for the next protest, but Basha says the purpose is unchanged. An interim government and early elections, with the purpose to bring down the current system and build a new republic.
