The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, met this afternoon with the
Women Forum. He invited them to the February 18th protest, saying that
this protest does not belong to the opposition only.
Present in this meeting was also the European MP, Doris Pack, Basha said that the Democratic Party has the support of the European Popular Parties, which has the majority of the European Parliament, to guarantee free and fair elections. According to Basha, this is one more reason to protest this Saturday.
“All Albania will gather in Tirana on February 18th. Albanians will join not only a protest called by the opposition, but to announce the creation of a new popular movement for the Albanian democracy”, Basha said.
He underlined that democracy has been taken hostage today, together with economy and the health system, which, according to Basha, are all controlled by a group of oligarchs.
“Education is collapsing, the purchase power has dropped. Family businesses have closed their shops”, Basha said, promising that he will change the situation once in power.
“Albania will have the lowest taxes in the Balkan region, which will bring investments and will create jobs, with new impulses to the economy”, Basha continued.
As for women, he said that they are the most persecuted category of this irresponsible government, “which has taken hostage the future of the country, and the only thing they want now is to take hostage the vote of Albanians as well”, Basha added.
