Basha: The start of the end of criminalization. DP, fighting for citizens

The opposition leader says that the six months of the boycott were used by the majority as a chance to govern without an opposition, or with an opposition in façade.

“The only alternative for Albania is functional democracy of the European model. The Democratic Party and the opposition decided to interrupt their relations with the Parliament six months ago, which came as a necessary action to explose the shocking truth of a criminalized parliament”, Basha declared.

Basha says that the resolution that was voted represents the clear structure of principles and cooperation between the majority and the opposition.

“First of all, for normalizing the parliamentary life through the implementation of the Constitutional Court decisions; reviewing the rules regarding an efficient functionality of the investigative parliamentary commissions, based on the best international practices; to work together with consensus, with the help of the European Parliament and European Commission in order to decriminalize the Parliament and the other ruling institutions. The implementation of the resolution will be monitored by them. The Democratic Party sees this as a very important event for the political, parliamentary and social life of Albania”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader declared that its fruits will be seen immediately, based on the seriousness, quality and time of implementation of the agreed measures.

“We are aware that this resolution is not the end, but just the beginning of our efforts for implementing it”, Basha underlined.
