Basha: The economy is dropping

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, accused the government of
pushing the country into an unavoidable economic crisis, starting by
rising taxes, prices, reducing salaries and closing jobs.

Basha’s gave this declaration during the meeting “Where is Albania headed to”, with representatives of syndications. The opposition leader shared his concern about the degraded economy under the left government, and warned once again for popular protests.

“After eight months, the Rama-Meta government has brought higher prices of basic goods with 11-15%. We warned that the fiscal package and the heavier taxes would bring this effect, a more expensive cost of living. This happened and it is still happening. Consumption is dropping, and the Prime Minister’s fairy tales cannot hide this. Salaries and pensions have frozen and will not be increased. This has affected the buying power significantly”, Basha declared.

Basha guaranteed the syndication representatives that the opposition will support their protests, since the duty of the opposition is to guarantee the necessary instruments and mechanisms so that Rama and Meta open their eyes and face the consequences of their failures and the frauds through which they came to power”.
