The opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, reacted to the ultimatum deadline
left by the majority for cooperating with the territorial reform. Basha
declared that this reform requires consensus and cannot be done only
with the votes of the majority.

“The territorial reform requires full political consensus. It’s not a decision that can be taken by me or the opposition. It has always been like that. The effort to leave consensus is very damaging and dangerous for the reform itself, and also for the political situation of our country, because it rejects the democratic coexistence. This is a step that deteriorates the democratic coexistence in our country. We insist for consensus and we appeal to reflect”, Basha declared.

The Democratic Party leader that the government fund for 50 projects in the local government was distributed selectively, by offering it only to areas led by the left coalition.

“92% of the funds were given only to local units led by the left coalition. The other units have only 8% of the funds. Even the apartheid regime in South Africa had more justice. The problem seems to be the mentality of the Prime Minister, who doesn’t look at the problems of citizens, but the efforts for political capital”, Basha declared.

The Mayor of Tirana released these declarations during the inauguratin of the national road from Tirana to Fushe-Kruja, with a cost of 115 million ALL.
