The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, was received in a meeting by
some US congressmen, who have supported the DP with the challenges of
Albania. Basha says in the Democratic Party announcement that Albania’s
next challenges are cleaning politics from crime, free and fair
elections and the justice reform.
Basha was welcomed by congressman Dana Rohrabacher, the Head of the Committee for Europe, Robert Aderholt, and the Chief for Balkan at the State Department, Thomas Yazdgerdi.
“I am happy to support your stance about the implementation of the decriminalization law and your initiative for realizing the justice reform after starting the implementation of the law for decriminalization, and also for free and fair elections”, Yazdgerdi said.
Basha declared there is no dilemma in choosing between the justice reform and early elections, since this reform requires free and fair elections.
“This is not a matter of choosing between the justice reform or free and fair elections. We want both, the justice reform and free and far elections”, Basha declared.
Basha was received by the National Security Council at the White House. Congressman David Jolly said that the USA need a credible partner to work with.
