Basha speaks about the Bank of Albania theft

“If we destroy the credibility of the Albanian monetary policy through political capitalism, we damage the credibility of the Albanian banking system, and there would be nothing on which to build the economic safety for today and tomorrow”, Basha declared.

The opposition says that the majority is trying to make a political profit out of it. He reported the government to the IMF representatives, saying that they are trying to take under control the monetary policy of our country by taking over the Bank of Albania.

“I told the IMF representatives that this would be an unheard tragedy that would destroy the trust of every bank and of every investor in economy”, Basha declared.

Basha used harsh words by saying that the recent actions of the governor have increased insecurity among investors: “Investors are under the constant pressure of a fascist rhetoric that has spread panic and fear in every sector of the economy, such as the absurd, illegal, anti-constitutional and criminal declaration of the Albanian government to not only freeze the urban plans approved by the law, but will not even recognize the permits given legally”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader told the IMF representatives that the economic indicators are different from what the governor shows.

“Every sector has deteriorated. The only thing growing is the debt”, Basha declared.

“Whoever denies this transparency is a collaborator of this crime, which is the daily ruin of the Albanian economy”, he declared.
