Basha: Reform is our key word. Rama doesn’t want consensus

The opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, said that justice reform is on top
of the opposition’s list, but DP sees at Prime Minister Rama only the
unchanged will to capture every single power, including justice.

“Rama is mixing the US good will with the numerous tricks to capture justice. We know that Edi Rama hates consensus, but we will invest until the end for consensus, based on the Venice principles. Consensus will undo the political bargains made at the Vila 31. The consensus that has been requested even by the Venice Commission, saves justice. A fair justice system would be a huge problem for Beqaj, Tahiri, Kokedhima, Ahmetaj, Gjiknuri and their gang leader”, Basha said in the group meeting.

The opposition leader reiterated the need for consensus, but although he greeted the SMI stance on the justice reform, he was careful to keep enough distance for as long that the SMI is part of the government.

“Rama and Meta have shown how they can get united as soon as their interests are the same. We don’t depend on their mood. We have chosen the Venice consensus. We greet the stance of the SMI and would want the SP to work together for the big reforms”, Basha underlined.

In the Parliamentary Group meeting, Basha didn’t speak about protests as part of the opposition’s action, but to discuss the government program in February by not changing their objective to have a technical government and early elections.
