The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, continued his debate in distance with Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Basha inspected the works of the “Ahmet Gashi” school, in Lapraka, where he accused the Prime Minister of blocking the Tirana Municipality investments, this time with more negative notes than the Prime Ministers before him.
“Rama has placed a blockage that has never been heard of. No Prime Minister has ever done this in the history of Albania, from Fatos Nano, Aleksander Meksi, Sali Berisha, Pandeli Majko or Ilir Meta. Majko has blocked any public work in Tirana. The central and local governments have always had disagreements, but the works have never been blocked. An entire city is being condemned due to his political grudges”, Basha declared.
Basha mentioned as arguments the blockage of the boulevard, the multimodal terminal of transportation and the concessionary for the city’s waste collection and processing.
Rama answered through Twitter, saying: “The most futile Mayor that Tirana has ever had speaks about imaginary blockages, while on terrain he is creating extraordinary damage”, insinuating the permits that Basha signed for the apartment buildings at the Artificial Lake.
Municipality leaders accuse Ramadan
Representatives from the Tirana Municipality accused the Prime Minister about a construction permit he gave when he was Mayor.
Their accusations were referring to the buildings at the “Mother Theresa” square.
The Vice Mayor of Tirana, Enno Bozdo, declared: “Rama accused the Municipality of Tirana of allowing these buildings at the “Mother Theresa” square. I have two documents showing that they were permitted by Artan Shkreli and Edi Rama. Edi Rama, this champion of lies, has only one strategy, and that is to slander the Municipality of Tirana and block its every movement”.
