The Democratic party leader, Lulzim Basha, asked a special investigation for the Durres Mayor, Vangjush Dako, after the Prosecution reported to be investigating his possible involvement with a local criminal gang.
Basha said that the intercepted phone conversation, in which Dako allegedly wants to thank the gang member one day after the elections, shows that the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, is collaborating with criminals to steal the next local elections, due next Summer.
The opposition leader appeals authorities to arrest Dako for having collaborated with the crime world in order to violate the elections.
He also warns the Prosecutor General, Arta Marku, that she will be held responsible for damaging evidence which prove the electoral crimes of Dako, Balla, Gjiknuri, Tahiri, etc.
