Basha: Rama must dialogue with protesters

The opposition leader presented a dim political situation and blamed
Prime Minister Rama for trying to take the control of the judiciary
system, for not implementing the court orders, and for not keeping the
promises.

Basha declared that Rama’s kept a cynical stance towards the two hunger strikes that are being held.

“The government must establish dialogue with both hunger strikes. They must review with realism the nature of the requests made by former public administration employees who have been fired, and confront the former political prisoners and explain himself to them about the promises given during the electoral campaign”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader used the same tone about the economic situation in our country, speaking of an economic slowdown and comparing it with the government’s predictions. Basha spoke about lower investments, compared with the Democratic Party government, for a lower payment of debts to the businesses, which, according to the opposition, should have not existed with the increased taxes.

“Based on the new tax on profit, the revenues should have increased with 50%, but they have dropped with 23% compared to the same period of one year ago, when the flat tax was in power. What happened? Where is the 27%? Evasion and corruption, economic drops. This is the explanation. This is accompanied by fewer jobs, fewer revenues for individuals and their families, more poverty and misery for hundreds of thousands of families that work in the private sector”, declared the Democratic Party leader.

After focusing for several weeks on the drug traffic issue, the Democratic Party now seems to have returned to the daily opposition routine, focusing on the economy and promises of the majority.

“This is the dim deterioration of our economy with the Rama-Meta government, which will be in the center of our attention as opposition, based on facts and convincing arguments. The so-called “revival” is a laugh at all the Albanian people, who refuse to get lied to by the ‘Revival’, which proved to be the biggest lie in the history of Albania”, Basha declared.

SP argue against Basha about economy

“We are paying the debts of Berisha. Revenues and exports are raising”

The Socialist Party reacted against the declarations of the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, about the economy, saying that the past government plunged the country in debts and the current one is turning it on the right track.

“The truth is different. We can refer to the main figures. The number of formal employees in Albania has increased with 30,000. The new manufactoring package and the new approach to farmers has created new jobs”, declared the Socialist Party Parliament Member, Olta Xhacka.

She also said that Albania exported in April 10% more than one year ago, when the country was ruled by the Democratic Party, today in opposition.

“We exported in March 6.6% more than March 2013. This means that our country produces more and exports more”, Xhacka declared.

According to her, the government has paid 200 million USD of debts that the previous government, today in opposition, had accumulated from the private businesses.

“Certainly, Basha doesn’t speak about the debt. Until yesterday they claimed that the debts didn’t exist. The debt created by the Basha and Berisha government was 720 million USD”, Xhacka declared.

“The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank confirmed that the economy is going on the right track. Both institutions now have more trust on the Albanian government”, Xhacka declared.
