The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that the government reduced the small business level to 20 million ALL because he is planning to give the VAT service to private operators.
“Rama will give it to his brother”, Basha said, adding that the inclusion of this business in the VAT scheme will cause an economic catastrophe.
“97% of the jobs are created by the small business and their situation today is dramatic. Thousands of jobs will be lost after VAT is included in this business”, Basha said.
Small businesses said they will oppose this government’s decision with protests. They asked Basha what solutions the opposition will offer if they come to power.
Basha sees that inclusion of VAT not only as an economic, but also a political act, which, according to him, aims to close the mouths of small businesses and concentrate the money to the hands of 4-5 oligarchs.
“Small businesses are independent. With VAT they will be depending on to a small group of people, stealing the majority and giving it to the minority”, Basha declared.
His advice for business owners was joining protests.
“Rise up! Reject and boycott VAT with all possible means and you will force this criminal measures to be lifted because it is destructive for the economy. We are by your side until this battle is won until we dismantle this criminal gang that can only steal”, he said.
Basha told participants that the opposition will propose a 120 million ALL VAT, which will have no cost for the budget.
“It will increase revenues and encourage formality. 40% of our economy is informal today”, Basha declared.
