Basha: Rama, hostage of the drug traffic

Different from the other times, Lulzim Basha and Sali Berisha didn’t
accompany the Democratic Party protesters in their march towards the
Prime Minister’s office, where they asked the resignation of Edi Rama.

Basha and Berisha met with their supporters in front of the Council of Ministers’ building, where they asked the Prime Minister to hold political responsibility for turning Albania into a base of drug traffic.

“We are asking him to leave, because our country needs a leader in the government, not hostages of the drug traffic, as Rama has shown. This is the Albania that fights. This is the Albania that never turns back. The Albania of the candidate status”, Basha declared.

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, used the protest in front of the Prime Minister Office to give a new message to the international partners, who have not held a critical stance against the government regarding the drug traffic.

“The big message that we are giving to the European Union and our strategic partner, the United States of America, is that Albania is not the drug traffic, but its free people”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader declared that the request for the Prime Minister’s resignation is not a battle for a political post, but a battle for guaranteeing the European future of the Albanian people.

“Edi Rama’s term was stained by the biggest drug traffic ever known by the history in this side of Europe. The citizens have morally overthrown Edi Rama. Edi Rama, go away! His only choice is to decide about the resignation hour. The sooner, the better for everyone”, Basha declared.

The Democratic Party didn’t say when they will hold a similar protest, but they will keep supporting another anti-government protest, that of the hunger strike of former public administration employees, who have asked the government to implement the court decision to return to their jobs.

Rama ignores the opposition’s protest

“Former government’s airplane wheel got stuck on the boulevard”

For the Prime Minister, Friday was a normal day of work, although a protest was going on outside his office.

After the protest, Rama posted a comment of Facebook, saying:

“The wheels of the former government’s airplane got stuck on the boulevard. The pilot stayed silent, his driver shouted, and the passengers took vans to return home”.
