For Lulzim Basha, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, fears the judiciary reform.
Basha spoke from Fier, where he said that the evidence for this was that the Socialist Party appointed a Provisory Prosecutor General that didn’t go through the vetting process.
Basha accuses Rama of blocking the creation of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and the National Bureau of Investigation, institutions that will investigate crime and corruption of high-level officials.
“Whenever we asked Rama about his promise for free health care, he always used to mention the vetting law. When we asked him about the promised 300,000 jobs, the high levels o crime and traffic, he kept mentioning the Vetting Law. Then why did he appoint a Prosecutor General that didn’t go through the Vetting Process? Why did he block the creation of the SPAC and NBI? The answer is simple. Rama and his collaborators are panicked. It is vital for them to block the real judiciary reform”, Basha said.
The Democratic Party leader said that the fact that the Court gave Tahiri his passport back and freed Orest Sota show that the judiciary is controlled by Rama through the new Prosecutor General. For Basha, this, corruption, crime, robbery of elections, are the product of an illegitimate government.
“It is an illusion for anyone who believes that a government and a prime minister who cooperate with crime, may find the will to implement the judiciary reform and to accomplish his duty for guaranteeing the citizens vote”, Basha declared.
Basha said that the opposition’s action will focus on the economic problems of the Albanian citizens and for removing Rama’s government from power.
“We are ready to give back to our citizens not only the money stolen by this criminal and the corruptive gang, but also the hope that the future will be free, democratic and European, as every Albanian wants. I am convinced for this. I appeal everyone to collect this positive energy and take it on the squares of popular protests. Freedom, democracy!”, Basha declared.
